I've been chuckling on and off about the film since I got up this morning. I agree, I don't think it was as entertaining as "Show", but I want to see it again. I think movies like that get funnier with each viewing.

By now, you've all heard that Grandma Bonnee is in a coma. It's a sad, rainy day for your mother. We're probably going to cancel our attendance at Joe Checchios's birthday party tonight and go out to Farmington to be with family. Your grandfather is being his stoic self, suggesting that nobody come out, and that everybody should just go about their day.

The trip to Reno was long, but enjoyable. The weather there was much like it has been here. The mountains were shrouded in moody clouds. We even drove through some snow flurries. I was wondering how Bob Hook likes working as an electrician in cold weather.....

I'm excited now that several of you have joined and posted! This is going to be fun. Everyone should make a habit of checking it daily. A great way to keep up.

As for mothers day, Cristie has asked me to make the beer burritos. That's what I'll be doing Saturday. She's going to head out to Farmington early, before our church, so Sunday evening at our house should be typical. Come join us and have a bean.

Thanks for the family temple night idea, Melissa. We'll work on a date. Any suggestions any of you have would be great.

Also having difficulies.... Will keep trying and exploring until I get it right. If there's one thing I can't abide, it's being a part of the conversation without putting my two cents in!

Speaking of going to the Temple, we should plan another family Temple date. That is always nice.
Off to Reno today. It will be a long day, to and from the same day. I like these one day trips, even though they make for a long day. No packing. No wheeling a carry-on through the terminal. After arriving at airport, a business associate and I will rent a car and drive to Carson City, meet with the Health Dept., and drive back to Reno and fly out. I'd like to have time to visit Bob and Donna, but not this time.

It's funny. I detest Las Vegas, but I like Reno. I think it's because Las Vegas tries to be what it's not; New York, a tropical paradise, Egyptian pyramid. Reno is smaller, and just tries to be itself. So even though I don't condone gambling, and don't even like to gamble, I don't mind being in an authentic city.

Being in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains also counts for something in my book. I'm partly a product of those mountains, vacationing in them as a boy with my family, and backpacking in them as a young man. I learned to fish in those mountains. I learned to love mountains in those mountains. I never see them without thinking of my roots.

My first posting! New to blog! Is there room in blog for a grandpa, or is this a medium only for the young? And what to write! I'm hoping this becomes a family site, as we're soon to be spread from CA to IL, with several points in between. Get your kicks, on route 66.
