I made a snowball as
perfect as could be.
I thought I'd keep it as a pet
and let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas and
a pillow for it's head.
Then, last night it ran
away.
But first-- it wet the bed.

I had two Shel Silvertein books growing up and I wore those pages out, I loved his poems and tried to memorize as many as I could.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, I just checked out "Where the Sidewalk Ends" at the library last week, for the kids (and for me).
Reading Shel Silverstein with Isaac is one of my favorite things to do with him. He is old enough to get the humor and delights in finding things funny.
ReplyDeleteI love Shel Silverstein. That was a total blast from the past! I can remember laying backwards on my bed and reading all those silly poems. Thanks! Fun memories.
